TEACH-ENG-LWelcome to TEACH-ENG-L. English teachers list: TEACH-ENG-L is a discussion list for secondary English teachers. The scope of the list includes all aspects of English instruction: teaching literature and composition, plus general teaching and discipline strategies. The goal is to discuss these topics and share [in everyday language] practical teaching ideas that work. While there may occasionally be people asking for definitions of educational terms used in their own work places, (such as cooperative learning),' the everyday language use on the list should be basic English. There are teachers on the list who are from other countries and they may not be familiar with someone else's "local" terms. As the list continues to grow in membership, it should prove more and more useful to each of us. Then there will probably be someone who has the skills and resources to help with most situations.
